Points to Ponder Number 30 17th February, 2015
Who is a terrorist? What is terrorism? Ostensibly the answer should be quite straightforward. If terror is “extreme fear” (Oxford dictionary) a terrorist is one who uses terror as a modus operandi and terrorism is the ideology he invokes.
Who is a Moslem? What is Islam? Obviously a Moslem is one who professes to be an adherent of Islam, the religion promulgated by Mohammed and his followers; one who regularly quotes the Koran and the Hadith, the basis of Islam, as justification for his actions; one who invokes the name of Allah as he perpetrates those actions.
Put them together and there can be no doubt as to the definition of a “Moslem terrorist”. What could be clearer? That is unless clarity is obfuscated by political correctness or, more nefariously, by political agenda.
We are told that a picture is worth a thousand words by somehow dozens of videos showing cold-blooded slaughter by Moslem terrorists chanting “Allah Akbar” and waving the Koran doesn’t convince those who do not want to be blinded by facts, proof and evidence.
Most people have very little interest in history, have forgotten whatever was learnt at school and do not have the time to check and challenge lies and half-truths which are presented to us as facts. The Crusades, the Inquisition – who can even tell them apart? Islamic aggression? Never.
Mr. Csaplar, a member of the Regent University Board of Trustees, has written a response to some of these falsehoods.
He reminds his readers that Islam, which started in the Arabian Desert, subjugated, by force, what is now known as Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Palestine and the North African coast from Egypt through Libya, Tunis, Algeria and Morocco. As is typical of colonialism, the Arab conquerors forced the local population to convert to Islam and those that didn’t became, and still are, second class citizens with no civil rights.
The Moslem conquest and colonization of Spain was reversed after many centuries of occupation as was the Ottoman Empire’s invasion and colonization of Greece, the Balkans and Hungary which was stopped at the gates of Vienna. The list of Moslem conquests is endless. Ah, you say. But that is ancient history. How about the events of the last century?
Turkey, which continues the colonialism of the defunct Ottoman Empire, expelled Greeks and replaced them with Turks, massacred Armenians and replaced them with Turks, conquered Northern Cyprus, expelled the Greeks and replaced them with Turks.
Indonesia conquered New Guinea and Christian East Timor. The Moslems of Northern Sudan have conquered Southern Sudan, enslaving and massacring the Christian population. The same is happening in Nigeria and its neighboring countries. The list is endless.
