I ended my last ptp questioning the Palestinians desire for peace with Israel.
Here then are some highlights from the poll conducted in cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Ramallah by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip between 10 and 12 December 2015.
* Two out of three Palestinians (67%) support the use of knives in the current confrontations with Israel.
* Two out of three (68%) support abandoning the Oslo agreement.
* 70% support a decision to ban entry of Israeli products into Palestinian areas even if Israel responded by banning the entry of Palestinian products into Israel.
* 64% support a decision to stop security coordination with Israel even if Israel responded by preventing Palestinian police access to B and C areas. These highlights are taken directly from the full report which can be viewed here.

Surprising everyone Abbas recently admitted that even when offered an almost total Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank he refused to continue the negotiations with Israeli PM Olmert. He stopped short of adding that the Palestinian aim was not the establishment of a Palestinian state but the demise of the State of Israel.
Read Algemeiner’s report of the interview on Israeli TV channel 10.

“The demise of the State of Israel”. Am I stretching it a bit far?
Abbas himself says it loud and clear, over and over but no one listens. As far as he and the Palestinians are concerned the occupation began in 1948 with the creation of the State of Israel and not as a result of the 1967 war against Jordan, the illegal occupier of the West Bank, which Israel didn’t start and didn’t want.
See and hear him saying that again and again.

And finally, something light to bring in the New Year.
See what the late George Carlin has to say about saving the planet.
