The State of Israel is 550 km from top to bottom. At its narrowest point, where I live, it is sixteen km wide. It takes six hours to go from Metulla in the north to Eilat in the south. It takes less than a quarter of an hour to get from my home to the West Bank, or Judea and Samaria, their accepted geographic names until the 1970’s.
Please read that again so that you can actually visualize this tiny, long, narrow country and translate it’s measurements into journeys you make at home.
In it there are six million Jews and one million Arabs, mainly Moslem but also Christian, and a small number of Druze. To the north is Lebanon, to the Northeast is Syria, to the east is Jordan and beyond Jordan is Iraq, southeast is Saudi Arabia and Yemen, southwest is Egypt and further west are Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. Two hundred and seventy million Arabs!! To spare you getting out your calculators, that’s one Jewish Israeli for every forty five Moslem Arabs living in twenty two Arab countries. Now that’s proportionality!
Why does my list exclude Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates? They are omitted because, unlike the former list, these countries did not participate in any way in the 1967 Six Day War against Israel, when, we are led to believe, the three million Jews in Israel decided to attack Egypt, Syria, Jordan and the entire Arab world!
In 1939, prior to the outbreak of WWII there were eighteen million Jews in the world, less than half a million in what was then known as Palestine. At its end, one out of three Jews had been massacred. One out of three!! Can you grasp that? One out of three!! Holocaust deniers enthusiastically ignore the records of the perpetrators, of the methodical Germans themselves.
Sixteen miles of shelves, thousands of filing cabinets, fifty million pages! It’s all there in the archives in Bad Arolsen in Germany. Not to mention photographs and films taken by both the Germans and the Allied liberators for the camps. But then, what Holocaust denier is really interested in the facts
Today the number of Jews worldwide, excluding Israel, is eleven million and shrinking. The number of Moslems worldwide is 1,619,314,000 and fast growing. Need a calculator? That’s almost one hundred Moslems for one Jew.
Now I ask you in all seriousness. Can it really be Israel which is threatening the Arabs and not the reverse? Can a Jewish cabal control the world or is it the oil rich Arab countries, abetted by Moslem Iran and Turkey, which are slowly and stealthily doing just that? Sometimes it’s with money, sometimes it’s by infiltration and immigration, sometimes it’s by terror.
So constant is the media and political bombardment accusing Israel of being responsible for the siege of, and the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and of acting illegally to enforce the sea blockade that it is well-nigh impossible to get the truth out.
The irrefutable fact, for those interested in the truth, is that Gaza is not under siege. It has an open border with Egypt. Gaza is not facing a humanitarian crisis. Shops are well-stocked with every luxury, including the latest iPhones Money is pouring in from the EU, from the UK and from oil rich Arab countries none of whom bother to audit the disbursements to ensure that none is ‘siphoned off’.

Without hiatus the legitimacy of the State of Israel is under attack. But, as Howard Grief shows in his book, “The Legal Foundation and Borders of Israel under International Law” not only is the State of Israel legitimate but it has more right than any other contender to control the “West Bank”. The attempt to expunge the origins of the Jewish people in the land of Israel is equally incessant and disregards historic evidence. I refer not to the Hebrew Scriptures, which many doubt, but to objective and tangible finds in archeological excavations, whether in Israel or in the neighbouring countries. Ancient inscriptions cannot lie. They are not modern fabrications. The two thousand five hundred year old declaration of the Persian Emperor Koresh, found in Iran, can be found almost verbatim in the first chapter of the book of Ezra.
The fact of the matter is that it is Israel and the Jewish people who are under siege.
Did you know that since 2005, when Israel withdrew from the Gaza more than 8,000 rockets have been fired by the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip at civilian targets into Israel. Over one million Israelis, one in six, are currently living under threat of rocket attacks. That means forty five seconds at the most to get to a shelter when the siren sounds.
What never ceases to surprise me is: how few are those interested in the truth and how many are those willing to spread falsehoods and fabrications without bothering to do what journalists are hypothetically expected to do – verify the facts and check the reliability of their sources. On the contrary, many actively take part in the fabrications and their dissemination.
The exposure by Philippe Karsenty that the state-owned France 2 Television news feature depicting the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old Palestinian identified as Muhammad al-Dura was nothing but a staged production filmed by a Palestinian cameraman, is but one example. The caption to a photograph of a young Israeli being beaten by Palestinians “Palestinian youth being beaten by Israeli soldiers” is another.

Pro-Palestinian activists, mainly from abroad, pay Palestinian children to confront soldiers, hoping to provoke them. Two of those children, daughters of prominent activists in the Popular Resistance, met with Mahmoud Abbas, as reward for their’ bravery’. Rather than keeping their children safe, parents direct their children in their roles hoping for, and achieving, maximum publicity. A photo of a crying child is worth a thousand words, even though that child is play-acting.

Israel is bombarded not only by rockets, mortar fire and missiles from the Gaza Strip but by outright lies, twisted half-truths and figments of imagination. Mark Twain had it right when he wrote “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes”. The problem is that where Israel is concerned, truth’s shoes have been hijacked.
The truth, however, is that it is Israel which is under siege.
